Robert Crozier was born in Buckie and brought up on Orkney. He studied painting at Edinburgh College of Art, where he won an Andrew Grant Open Scholarship and exhibited at The Young Contemporaries Exhibition, London, in 1961. In 1971, he was one of five artists included in the Scottish Arts Council’s touring exhibition Scottish Realism. Selected solo exhibitions include a show of paintings and sculpture at the New 57 Gallery in 1970, The Gallery at Architecture Ltd in London in 1997, From Edinburgh to Haute Vienne at Edinburgh Printmakers' Gallery in 2006, Recent Paintings and Prints at Wasps Gallery, Edinburgh in 2012. His work is represented in many public collections including The Government Art Collection, The Ritchie Collection, Edinburgh Education Committee, Midlothian District Council, Napier University, The Arts and Theatre Trust, Fife, Aberdeen Libraries, and Leeds Education Committee, Edinburgh College of Art.
