The Sutton Gallery was established in 2012 by Reuben Sutton and Colin Herd. In the gallery you will find a wide range of artwork in many different media, from oil and acrylic paintings to original prints such as lithographs, screenprints and etchings. The gallery was established with the simple objective of providing high quality art by stimulating and exciting artists at affordable prices.
As well as stocking work by artists with an international reputation, The Sutton Gallery is committed to promoting the work of up-and-coming artists we represent from around the UK.
The Sutton Gallery holds regular exhibitions by individual or group artists, as well as touring exhibitions around the country most frequently at Durham University. If you are interested in exhibiting with us or would like more information please contact us.
All artwork in the gallery over £100 can be purchased through our interest-free payment scheme of a 20% deposit followed by six monthly installments. Please enquire for more details.
Who we are:

Reuben J Sutton, Gallery Director, was born in England and completed a BA (Hons) at Durham University followed by an MSc at the University of Edinburgh. Reuben is currently completing an MA in Art History.

Colin Herd, Gallery Director, was born in Scotland. He completed his PhD at the University of Edinburgh.
As well as being a director of The Sutton Gallery, Colin is a poet, fiction writer and critic. His first collection of poems “too ok” was published by BlazeVOX in 2011 and a second full-length collection 'Glovebox', was published by Knives Forks and Spoons Press in 2013. He has published over 60 reviews and articles on art and literature in publications including Aesthetica Magazine, 3:AM Magazine, PN:Review and The Independent.
Colin lectures in Creative Writing and English Literature at the University of Glasgow.
